Kaindl laminated
floors consist up to 90 % of wood. In the
manufacturing process, the materials predominantly used are sawdust,
woodshavings as well as logs from the deforestation of local forests.
Regulated
forestry cannot manage without thinning processes. This means that
trees are removed from the forest, damaged wood and trees that
have been blown down, and consequently quality growth of the
forest is promoted. Wood procured by thinning processes is used for
the manufacture of support boards for Kaindl laminated flooring.
This laminate flooring is
manufactured exclusively from timber which is the product of domestic
(austrian and German) forests managed on the basis of permanent
sustainability.
Besides tree-trunks and logs, mainly
wood remains from the sawmill industry, such as edgings, chips
or sawdust are used. Primarily therefore parts of wood are improved
which are produced in other processes or occur as low quality
subsidiary products in forest maintenance.
The purified wood shavings and fibres
are bonded under high pressure and temperatures using completely
biologically degradable resins to bind them as support
boards which are layered with a cellulose combined with a special
resin so as to produce high quality Kaindl laminated floors.
